Deborah Watson of Branson International Film Festival - built the Fringe Entertainment District in a metaverse space with RhinoXR Studios so people can attend the festival from around the world and not be hindered due to travel times, expenses, and processes.
We are challenging America to Explore the possibility of driving down violence in our nation through a 2023 Ford Explorer Sweepstakes and our first full-feature film "Not Too Far from Here" that is the first story in the Broken Colors Trilogy.
Broken Colors Trilogy is a franchised collection of Not Too Far from Here, Tomi Girl, and Broken Colors. It's a 7-year project providing strong Native American characters with a positive voice in our nation. Project to conclude on May 28, 2030. The 200th year anniversary of the Indian Removal Act signed by President Andrew Jackson. It is important to me because my 7th great grandmother was 11 years old when she was forced onto the trail of tears where my Cherokee bloodline began to dissolve. One thing that couldn't be taken away from me though is the significance of who I am as a Christian American woman who happens to have Cherokee in her ancestry. While many current cultures are canceling out history, I'm tapping into the positive things that my people have to offer our nation and providing opportunity to where there once was none.
Thankful for Governor Mike Parson of Missouri for signing the Missouri film tax incentive program which was cancelled in 2013 by Gov. Jay Nixon. Now we're able to scale up operations at our Studio in Branson and keep some of the filmmakers home instead of them leaving for LA, Atlanta, or New York. As a businessperson, I knew I had to take productions to either Arkansas or Oklahoma to have those perks of filming. Now we can scale back our costs and build from home.
Speaking of building, One of the key things that is happening in our industry that caused the strikes to happen is AI, metaverse, and all the technology growth that is happening. We're leaning into this space too and operating at a different level than why writers and actors are striking. (it's been over 134 days) We operate with the attitude of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should". Here's the deal. Let's just say we wanted to hire Wes Studi for a role. Let's just say, he was booked for another role on another show and couldn't come to set. BUT if we're 'creating' in a metaverse space, all he would have to do is send over an audio file, we would pay him his rate PLUS points, and he could physically be on the other set. It would double his salary for that day. I don't think people are looking at the big picture advantages. I personally wouldn't mind paying him fair market wages even if he wasn't on set because ultimately, it's saving me money because I don't have to feed him, house him, insure him, or pay travel expenses. If he were on set and would be there 12 of the 21 days, then he would get paid for the 12 days. The VO would probably only take him a day or 2, plus he wouldn't have to memorize his lines. It seems like a win/win to me, but that's how my business mind works and not everyone processes information the same.
Creating encouraging content that inspires hope.
